Welcome to Miami, where everything is just a little bit bigger than normal.

Just got back from my second trip to Miami with work, hence the lack of posts lately. Really great trip, but glad to be back in good old bad-weather-blighty. Never before have I experienced heat like this visit to Miami – being outside was like being followed around by a gang of hairdryers. Not the ideal place for a clothing enthusiast such as myself. Nothing sartorial to report, but here are a few images and bits of inspiration that I encountered.

4,500 miles and 18 hours of solid travelling my first drink in Miami was brewed in Yorkshire. Good old Sam Smiths.
View from my hotel room. The yacht moored there was the Hooter Patrol IV (that means there’s at least three others floating around the world somewhere!) belonging to the Hooter’s Swimsuit Pageant taking place in the hotel. “To Smitty!”.
Never thought I’d describe a car park as ‘breath taking’, but here it is! 1111 Lincoln Road by Herzog and de Meuron.
Trip to Maison Martin Margiela in the Miami Design District
Loved this idea for fragrance testing… off cuts of white grosgrain ribbon.
Leftovers from the last show at Locust Projects in the Miami Design District.
Beautiful detail on this frame. Painted gold on the face and inner edge, but the outer edge left untouched to reveal the wood.
Sushi at Sushisamba on Lincoln Road. Certainly my tastiest sushi experience to date.
Cracking wine. Loved the label application.
A room with a view.
Ready to make tracks.
