If anyone is interested in looking at pictures of how proper grown ups dress, head on over to The Armoury’s Lightbox Tumblr for a visual masterclass. I’ve pretty much lost my entire Saturday morning over there. Gentin’ of the highest order.

I’m just curious, this movement in the menswear scene about grown-up dressing, where does it come from? I admittedly think shorts are silly unless you’re actually near water, but otherwise, grown men dress as grown men dress.I’ve known completely irresponsible fools who were snappy “grown up” dressers, and I’ve known people who dressed in nothing but North Face rip-stop who were mature beyond description. So where does the comparison to maturity and dress come into play? Shouldn’t we all just dress better because it’s attractive?

I agree with you Sean. My title for this piece was simply a throwaway turn of phrase playing on stereotype and not intended as anything deeper.
