You may have noticed it’s been pretty slow around the blog for a while. This is mainly due to a really busy time at work and the wife and I very recently purchasing our first flat (you may be seeing a few more ‘homewares’ posts in the coming months – but I’ll try and keep clothing matters at the top of the agenda).
With homewares in mind for now though I thought I’d tell you about a brand called Lostine that I recently came across on a recent trip to SCP Shoreditch. There they have a vast selection of Lostine’s rustic chopping boards each complete with leather handle and flush inset roundel. They are available in a wide variety of sizes and wood types for varying uses. Once home I checked out their website to find more great homely and rustic products and furniture on offer.
The company was founded by Robert True Ogden (what a name!) in Philadelphia and focuses on producing useful, elemental, and timeless products for the home. The designs have an echo of much simpler times where beauty is truly borne from function and practicality. Of all the items from their site I’d have to say my favourite pieces are the Bloak Ladders (below) due to their versatility as a clothes rack, towel rail, coat stand, or just all round intriguing piece of furniture. I’m hoping SCP start to carry a few more of their pieces in future.

Bloak Ladders, what a name. fitting. carry on with homeware man, it’s great, i love anything to do with it, esp with your kind of taste.
